I Am From Here features BIPOC educators and students sharing their personal stories of living in and going to school in Vermont. It was produced by Bess O'Brien and commissioned by the Vermont NEA.

Following the film, filmmaker Bess O’Brien will chat with interviewees from the film to find out what changes have occurred in Vermont since the film was produced in 2018. We welcome you to join the conversation as well.

Bonnie Johnson-Aten is the District Lead Principal for the Burlington School District

Zora Vermilya is a recent graduate from Sarah Lawrence College, currently a writer and high school English teacher in training at Concord Academy in Concord, MA.

Noel Riby-Williams is an activist and graduate of Montpellier High School. She is currently a Junior studying Health Science at the University of Vermont.
